5/18/2023 0 Comments Pocoyo racing wii 9The only mode that doesn’t support multiplayer is the block building minigame, though we’ll explain why later.įor those unfamiliar with Pocoyo, it is a delightfully surreal CGI cartoon featuring the titular character, Elly the… elephant, Pato the duck and Nina the girl. Secondly, all but one of the game modes are playable with extra players, notably racing supports four players. However, firstly this is in fact the third Pocoyo game after previous efforts on the DS in 2008 and DS/Wii in 2011, being Hello Pocoyo and Pocoyo Racing respectively. It’s educational, fun for all the family and MULTIPLAYER! That’s verbatim in case you were wondering. At least that’s what the text on the PS4 dashboard says. Pocoyo Party is the first game based on the endearing Spanish kids show from Zinkia Entertainment. The game was initally planned to be released in the US along with the Wii version, being published by SouthPeak Games, but was cancelled.Apin PS4 / Reviews tagged my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard / pato / pocoyo by Ian.The screenshots found for the game show that it was going to be an augmented kart-racing game, kind of like Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit. A successor, titled Pocoyo Circuits was going to be released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but was cancelled. The game currently has a low rating of 0.5/5 on GameFAQs. A 100% completion of the game (collecting all 60 models and 180 picture cards) will allow you to unlock an exclusive episode from the show. For the most part, it is at least faithful to the Wii version. It is unknown if they actually have different stats or not due to there being no way to view their stats, unlike in most racing games. Picture cards are (somewhat) pointless to collect, as you cannot do anything with them other than browse through them as a gallery, and most of them are just stills from the show. The first time, you do it alone, and the second time, you race against your ghost, and regardless if you beat your ghost or not, you will still win a medal either way, making the latter pointless. In the Time Trial challenges, in order to win a medal, you have to race on the same track twice.Instead, you have to race on the same track over and over again until you or another racer reaches 24 stars. The Championship is similar to that of the Grand Prix mode, except you cannot choose the tracks. The gameplay can get pretty repetitive like in the Wii version, as all 10 levels in the Motor Olympics (the Story Mode of the game) have the same 3 types of challenges: Championship, Time Trials, and Balloon Bursting. The compression of the audio files is pretty pointless, as there are other Nintendo DS games (even ones that were released in previous years) that have much better sounding audio. Low quality audio, as the audio from the Wii version was most likely compressed (badly) in order to fit on the DS.However, the developers could've still kept the tracks the same like in the Wii version and there still wouldn't be an issue. Some of the tracks (such as the Ocean ones) are different than in the Wii version, possibly due to the hardware limitations of the console. However, this can be somewhat justified as the show didn't have a lot of characters at the time. Short roster, consisting of only 12 characters, and despite Baby Bird appearing in the game, he's not playable.Even its predecessor, Hello Pocoyo! had better graphics than this, and that game was released in 2008 for the same platform, made by the same developers. The models look very polygonal/blocky, with Pocoyo's and Pato's models being one of the worst offenders of this. Horrendous looking graphics and character models that look akin to a game released for the Atari Jaguar, even for Nintendo DS game standards. The game was released about EIGHT months after the Nintendo 3DS was already released in Europe, making the DS port of the game pointless, as it should have been released for the 3DS instead.
